Congress Supporting Israel

House Resolution 34, "Recognizing Israel's right to defend itself against attacks from Gaza, reaffirming the United States' strong support for Israel, and supporting the Israeli-Palestinian peace process."

On Friday, the 9th, the US House of Representatives passed a resolution in support of Israel in its war on Hamas in Gaza. There was the initial version and then the passed verion of this Resolution, according to Thomas the official Congressional web site out of the Library of Congress.

The bill was introduced by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, with 116 co-sponsors. Our Representative, Nicki Tsongas, was not a co-sponsor. She did vote for it, per Roll Call No 10. It passed with overwhelming support. However, libertarian Representative Ron Paul was opposed to it. So did that other former Presidential Candidate, Dennis Kucinich.

So, what is this all about? I went to Congressperson Tsongas' web site to see what she thought, but when I searched on the site I was told the site was down. I called the office and they are going to get back to me. So, I will "comment" the update.
