Apparently the idea of extending hot dog diplomacy to Iran is off. At least according to Allahpundit it is off.
This seems reasonable.
The side story here is that the typical Embassy Fourth of July celebration is not a US Government funded activity. Due to the continuing cuts in Embassy funds over the years, the Embassy goes out and solicits money from US firms overseas to pay for the celebration. How embarrassing. I wonder what Niki thinks about that? What about our two Senators? Maybe I will stop by and ask tomorrow.

Hi there caught your blog off of Mr. Mill City. Personally don't I fit well into local politics, even though I have an interest.
ReplyDeleteCan't say I've been follow the Iran protests as well as many people, but i have an interest in how demography plays into public policy, so it though I share an article on how the government's family planning has an effect on the younger adult population taking the streets.

Renee's comment fits in with the other demographic issue, the generational divide between those who overthrew the Shah and fought to defend the nation from the Iraqi invastion, and those born later, who are looking for a new birth of freedom.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Renee
