When the temperature at the National Weather Service station dipped to 58 degrees at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, it wiped out the previous record low for the date of 60 degrees, which was set in 1877.And, in the complicated way that nature works, this could be the result of "global warming," although it might also be a side effect of the frosty relationship between a couple of our Lowell City Council members.
NWS forecaster Bobby Boyd noted it was the third consecutive morning when Nashville either tied or broke a daily low temperature record.

Cliff,
ReplyDelete...And this is the part where I bug you again about State of Fear. The novel is mostly forgettable but the epilogue has a lot of great stats and charts that are designed to challenge everything that people think about climate change.
Crichton was definitely going after that huge swath of people who are generally informed and count themselves as believers in climate change but aren't really sure why. I've got to confess, reading that stopped me right in my tracks.
At least until I have the chance to really sit down and learn more, I will count myself as a climate change agnostic.
best,
