Out Back Question of the Week

I have an EMail from Eileen Donoghue, inviting me to "become a fan of Eileen Donoghue for State Senate".

Smart move on her part.  I bet she is now glad she "friended" me a while back.

Social media is a big deal in politics these days and it looks like Ms Donoghue is pretty up to date or is getting some good advice.

So, the Out Back Question of the Week is, should I become a fan of Ms Donoghue?

Thanks

  1. Short answer, Yes.

Long answer, if only to be on the cutting edge of political hackery...new media tracker.

  2. I'll chime in here too -- definitely. Facebook is a great way for candidates to spread the word in a quick way...phone or e-mail chains are okay, but they're unreliable, because if one link in the chain breaks, the whole thing can fall apart.

With Facebook, if Eileen has an important announcement to make or an event to publicize, it can be done quickly to all FB friends, or fans, in an instant.

It's a great tool that is best of all FREE for candidates.

Here's to hoping new media can democratize elections by leveling the playing field for candidates without a lot of $$$.

  3. Imagine if it were possible to elect all officials by using Facebook. Betty White was able to get over a half million votes to have her guest host Saturday Night Live. Just imagine the possibilities; noone would have to leave their house, or be inconvenienced in any way.

Please be forthright, but please consider that this is not a barracks.
