Penn Station

I am in Penn Station, in New York City, aboard an Amtrak train, using WiFi.

I think that is pretty cool.

  1. Are you on the Acela?? My brother used it from NYC to DC and said it was a very nice ride...and probably faster than air when you factor in getting to the aeroporto..and then from.....

Too bad that DOT doesn't value mass trans...could be a good thing. BTW....last time we were in France, we rode the TGV......WOW!!! The Swiss trains are also very, very nice. The Brits have an even nicer touch on their trains.....onboard pubs......you gotta love that.....

  2. Cliff:

Is the WiFi free? After a few years of gouging the business traveler with outrageous internet usage fees, I see that the trend in the hotel business is to provide it for free once again.

And ncrossland, yes, there are "pubs" on trains in England, but you need them; all those changes in scheduling, track issues, re-routing, job actions and just plain regular delays, using the English train system is an adventure and may lead one to drink. :-)

  3. Hi, from the Wi-Fi at the Swan Hotel at Disney in Orlando. (I didn't want to pay for the Wi-Fi on the Delta flight down, or I'd have said "Hi" earlier). It's pretty cool, yes!

I guess former Gov Michael D got something right.

  6. Cliff, we took the Acela from New York to 128 we loved it, the line to get through the turn style was the only hassle, well there was finding a seat together (we had pre paid tickets for their premium ride) We would do it again the airport has much more hassle. Their lounge had free coffee, soda snacks as we waited for the train and the internet speed was almost as good as at home.
    We got sunshine here!

  7. My bank, which lets me scan in check deposits from home, tells me in the next few months I will be able to take a picture of a check to be deposited from my phone and upload it into my account.

  8. Yes, but Lance lives in Silicon Valley and the Massachusetts Miracle seems to have slipped away.  May I blame Michael Dukakis?
