In the Proposal Room down here in King of Prussia, PA, is a group of folks from a number of different places, including yours truly from Lowell and several folks from Florida, plus a bunch of folks from the Colorado Springs/Denver area. And, of course, local folks.
One of the people is Gerrry Bartkowski, who is doing the IMS, the Integrated Master Schedule. At our daily Tag Up on Monday, Gerry announced, with obvious pride, that his nephew, Matt Bartkowski, had been called up from Providence to play with the Bruins in the game in Pittsburgh Monday night.
I meant to blog about it Monday night, but, alas, I left my notes at work. Then last night I had trouble getting on the Motel WiFi, until the ladies on the desk pointed out that they were using the WiFi, which encouraged me to not just sit there, but to go looking for it.
Well, Matt had his time of glory in his home town Monday night, getting 9:53 of ice time. Tuesday, against the Senators he was scratched. Now he is headed back to Providence. I will wait for my Hockey loving friends for comments on when we will see Matt Bartkowski back up.
And, it looks like King of Prussia didn't get hurt to bad with the snow. The snow fall hit the 4 to 8 inch target and the roads are cleared, per the TV. So, I will be off to work soon.
Regards — Cliff
Matt Bartkowski would appear to be one of the up and coming prospects of which we'll see more, both this year and next. He and Steve Kampher are high in the esteem of the coaches, though Kampher has had the bulk of the opportunity so far. With Lucic out with an injury, and Kampher suspended, who knows what might be next.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have provided for shoveling at the homestead, as the current forecast is for 19 - 24 inches in Lowell.
ReplyDeleteMatt Bartkowski was initially kept on the Broons roster for the international trip to the Czech republic at the beginning of the season because he had an unexpectedly exceptional training camp and because it was thought that because of the distance it would be difficult for teams playing in Europe to call up replacements in case of injury roster limits were expanded. I do believe Matt never dressed for either of the games there. I was impressed with his play Monday night especially given that he was playing in front of fans from what was essentially his home town and by his poise in a between-the-periods interview. I expect to see much more of Matt and he rookie teammate Steve Kampher in the next year or two!
