Text Messages are Dangerous

From a week or so ago we have this item out of Canada (The Leader-Post) on the accidental death of a terrorist bomber in the Moscow area.  Remember the 24 January 2011 attack on Moscow's Domodedovo Airport?  Apparently the same crowd.  She died when she got a Text Message on her cell phone.

She was getting rigged out in her suicide bomb outfit at her Safe House when a text message came in.  It appears the trigger for her bomb was set up to act upon receipt of a text message.
Security sources believe a message from her mobile phone operator wishing her a happy new year received just hours before the planned attack triggered her suicide belt, killing her at a safe house.
Bad luck.  Well, actually, good luck for almost all of Moscow, including tourists, but bad luck for the woman bomber.

Note that the suicide bomber was a woman.  Looking for terrorists has to include looking at both sexes (or is that both genders?).

    The Chechens have long specialized in recruiting female bombers, and I think the Arabs are starting to take notice of the advantages in concealment and surprise that female attackers offer as well. It's one of the odd quirks of this "war", that as soon as we focus on one profile or means or target, the incentive exists for the bad folks to change the game, and they often do.

    Yes, both genders, but also we need to bear in mind that the vast majority in number of violent tragedies here in the US continue to be at the hands of native nut cases without any clear agenda or profile. (Other than their being crazy).

    But here in the US the knife is also a tool of terrorism.  A short time ago some college student tried to take out the Governor of some fly-over state with a knife, but only got a couple of academics, and them not fatally.

    In Naples, Italy, in the 1970s, the tool of fame was the screw driver stuck into a car door to keep the window from rattling.  It derived from an accident where one driver stabbed the other with his window-silencing screw driver and got off because it was a "crime of passion".
