Mitch Says No

And who can blame him.  Here is the story in The Washington Post.

The same Wash Post has an incomplete gallery of Republican candidates—where is Herman Cain?

  1. I don't believe that you will see a credible opponent rise to the challenge of having one's life torn apart by partisan attack dogs, and nobody opposed to Obama is safe. Their political and most like their personal lives will be essentially and effectively ruined. This dearth of candidates will continue until American society has had enough of the vehemence that has become the national character in response to anyone who dares oppose a viewpoint. The ONLY way that Obama will be defeated is through his own ineptitude and an American electorate who have had enough of him.

I watch in the local media, anyone who voices a conservative or anti-Democrat run government view is immediately and viciously attacked by faceless opponents. Were it possible to print four letter epithets in the public media, I would expect to see responses that would make a seasoned sailor blush in embarrassment.

So, why is it that anyone would want to subject themselves to such abuse? Only if you are pathologically masochistic.

  2. They do it to themselves, no need to make any special effort to "tear their lives apart".

Newt Gingrich, of the party promoting "family values":

"He walked out in the spring of 1980.... By September, I went into the hospital for my third surgery. The two girls came to see me, and said, "Daddy is downstairs. Could he come up?" When he got there, he wanted to discuss the terms of the divorce while I was recovering from my surgery." - Jackie, his first wife.

Mitt Romney, of the party that will reduce our national debt:

"While in private business, Mitt Romney utilized shell companies in two offshore tax havens to help eligible investors avoid paying U.S. taxes, federal and state records show."
