Yesterday the US Supreme Court ruled that individuals have "standing to challenge the constitutionality of the federal crime" with which they are charged. Professor Althouse likes this quote from the ruling:
"State sovereignty is not just an end in itself: 'Rather, federalism secures to citizens the liberties that derive from the diffusion of sovereign power.'""Diffusion of sovereign power."

Three cheers for the SCOTUS....I am imagining that at least Scalia and Thomas are dancing with glee in their respective chambers. One for the good guys!!!! Time to reign in the Congressional overreach......
