The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced on Tuesday that it has awarded $28.8 million to 67 community health centers with funds from the Obamacare health reform law.It appears that Speaker Pelosi was correct in saying they had to pass the bill to find out what it said. I would add that the $8.5 million won't cut it.
Of that $28.8 million, “approximately $8.5 million will be used by 25 New Access Point awardees to target services to migrant and seasonal farm workers,” Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Spokeswoman Judy Andrews told CNSNews.com. HRSA is a part of HHS.
Andrews said that grant recipients will not check the immigration status of people seeking services.
“Health centers do not, as a matter of routine practice, ask about or collect data on citizenship or other matters not related to the treatment needs of the patients seeking health services at the center,” Andrews said.
Further, the grant recipients are required to serve “all residents“ who walk through their doors.

On a personal note, I like immigration. It is queue jumping I am against. That, and I am against people who say "it is not illegal to be illegal in Massachusetts".

The figure given will likely get through the first few months.....at best...and then balloon out of sight fast than the DARPA Hypersonic plane launched this AM. The entire Obamacare program is a lie...and is based on a lie.....and the only reason it still stands today is that too many Americans still believe that it's not. FDR must be so proud!!! Or perhaps, even a bit envious......it was something he envisioned but was thwarted by a public much more aware.....and a SCOTUS that was much more "conservative."
This is little more than the DREAM Act implemented without the vote of the Congress.
This "queue" you mention, in some countries is all but impossible to get in.
Often, the "queue" is filled by the wealthy with political connections and/or those that can afford the bribes to get in the "queue."
Now, I may be suggesting that US officials are guilty of bribery. Or, maybe there are intermediaries that act as a liason for the bribe. Not sure, except there are reasons why some folks opt to spend thousands of dollars to jump the "queue."
Says the guy with single payer health care.
Only real Americans get that.
Wait, doesn't "nealcroz" get health insurance from at least two sources?
As for the immigration queue, I have observed it via my Granddaughter's husband and someone I recommended be hired by DRC. Cranky and creaky, but it works. Don't like the various quotas? That goes to the team we have in DC.
If ICE is corrupt, then it needs to be fixed. Frankly, I haven't seen it.

Actually, more than two....one being my own personal bank account.....I know..that sounds terribly stupid in today's "free services" environment.
But hey, if the Boston Fire Department can do it...along with many if not most of the MA state employees.....why not think it okay for career (those that served much more than the "obligatory" 20 years) military. Oh..there is a lot of
I don't believe ICE is corrupt..at least..any more than the FBI. I do believe that ICE is perhaps the most politically sensitive agency in DC. Now..if you want to speak of agency corruption.....BATFE and DOJ.
