GPS illustrates the classic dilemma of a public good: the Air Force has to budget for a very expensive satellite constellation that benefits the everyone—the Services, the U.S. government, you and me, and the world.This from someone affiliated with the US Navy.
Seems to me the Air Force shouldn't have to choose between GPS and Next Generation Bomber. We need both.
Is GPS not a public good?
