Over at the Zero Hedge blog is a discussion of declining gas consumption and its implications for the economy.
The short of it is that automobile gas consumption is down and it is not all about better fuel economy or electric cars. This is a harbinger of a downturn in the economy.
Nice charts and graphs.

Well, I'm doing my part to get and keep consumption down. I have a Prius and it gets about 50 mpg....and I use as much public transportation as is possible.
ReplyDeleteBeyond that, the economic downturn is the cause, less gas consumption is the effect. This administration is hell-bent on driving out carbon based fuels and would revel in devastating America's reliance on fossil fuel. Were that not true, we would have long ago begun the development of our own substantial resource.
The socialist theory in operation is to drive aspects of life in America to the point that consumers of those aspects beg the government to "Do something." Ultimately, by the people's OWN REQUEST....Big Government will provide the help according to its own standards....and the people will be transformed from citizens to subjects.
