Martha and I are down in Northern Virginia, helping our oldest son move to a new place. We left our daughter and her Huskie, Fred, at home. This area is still reeling from the series of storms, a
derecho, that left 3 million without power. Actually, 3 million is less than 1% of our population. A comment from a Chief Technology Officer
talks to the tech side of this. From the comments we have this:
America needs a better protected/modernized power grid.
We talk about infrastructure as though it is highways and bridges. It is more, and includes our power grid. We need redundant power generation and redundant power distribution. [But not necessarily bladder dams.] It will cost money. Pay me now or pay me later.
