Rush Muffs Third Amendment

For John, BLUFThe Third Amendment is about the Government not forcing troops on homeowners.

Early in today's show, Talker Rush Limbaugh attempted to draw a connection between the Second Amendment and the Third Amendment.  Mr Limbaugh said that the Amendment was about denying the right of homeowners to quarter troops.  That wouldn't work out very well, since it would mean that parents couldn't welcome home their sons and daughters currently in the Service at Christmas.  And, prevent owners of properties from renting to young military families around bases.

I think it is a bit of a stretch to think that the Third Amendment reinforces the Second Amendment, except in the sense that the home is a special and secure place by natural right and the Constitution forbids the Government from trespassing on that natural right.  The same with ownership of firearms.
