One More Korea Post


For John, BLUFChina unhappy with North Korea.  Nothing to see here; just move along.

The danger with drafting these posts late in the evening is that the world could change over night.  However, Diplomat Kurt Campbell is pretty insightful and gives his views on China and Korea to Reporter Josh Rogin in an article in Foreign Policy Magazine.  The lede:
The Chinese government has changed its approach to North Korea and taken a tougher line out of frustration with Pyongyang, according to Kurt Campbell, the State Department's top Asia official until last month.

So, this morning, The International Herald Tribune has an article that says the US sees movement in China regarding nKorea.  On the other hand...

When the current American and South Korean joint military exercises end this month, he [hawkish People’s Liberation Army Major General Luo Yuan] wrote in a blog post on China’s social media site, Sina Weibo, North Korea will calm down and return to the status quo of “no war, no unification,” which remains in China’s favor.
