Conspiracy Theories

For John, BLUFGive people the benefit of the doubt.  Nothing to see here; just move along.

In an EMail this morning I found this comment:
Generally speaking, incompetence, accident, inertia, and dumb chance explain more than conspiracy.
On target.  I realize this is taking an optimistic view of human motivations, but a pessimistic view of human performance, but I think it is that way.

The person who said this was Jill Hazelton, a Professor at Naval War College, so we have to add the standard disclaimer that in making this comment she was not speaking for NWC, the Navy, or our Federal Government.

  2. If I were more of a conspiracy theorist, I would wonder why The sun included a fedora-sporting member of the License Commission pictured in the background of the "Rita and Rodney" pose in this Column item: http://blogs.lowellsun.com/thecolumn/2013/09/25/random-thoughts-from-tuesdays-prelim-in-lowell/

However, I'm not a conspiracy theorist. I would be willing to wager that it just meant he happened to be in the background at the time the picture was taken.

  3. Turns out, Reporter Rob Mills is from the same general part of Pemnsylvania as my Paternal Grandmother.  But, I just happened to be there, collecting info for the next morning's City Life show, and being impressed by the smooth operation of the Election Office.  Glad I was smiling.
