WMDs in Iraq

For John, BLUFWe have to understand words the same war to really communicate.  Nothing to see here; just move along.

Here is an example of lack of full journalistic integrity and transparency.  The story, by Mr Bryan Preston, at the PJ Tatler is "AP Stealth Edits Iraq WMD Story".

Of course, the real problem is that Iraq never had Weapons of Mass Destruction.  That was a lie told to us by the Bush Administration (and the British Government).  There never were any.  Got that?

This story is about Islamic State (was the ISIL) capturing the Muthanna storage site.  The original story has a tone of we have a problem.  The update, not cited as an update, says the 2,500 or so rockets with chemical warheads are badly degraded and not a significant threat.

I am with the "no threat" assessment.  That said, the updated version of the story doesn't carry the Iraqi view very well.  And it doesn't say, look, I am an update.

Hat tip to the Instapundit.

Actually, I think it is part of the confusion about what is a WMD.  Most people think nuclear weapons and mushroom clouds.  They forget about the Chem/Bio threat, not to mention the definitions given to us by a panicky US Congress, which includes hand grenades and guns with longer barrels.  See this Blog Post.
