Transcript:  President Obama’s Nov. 5 news conference on midterm election results

When we argue about what President Obama said in yesterday's Press Conference, the above transcript can help us know what he said.  As to what he meant, that is open to interpretation.

This is kind of long—one plus twenty.

Two questions:

1. Were President Obama's policies really on the ballot?
2. Does two-thirds of voters staying home really mean that they are happy with the direction of the nation, notwithstanding polls showing the opposite?
