Misdirection From Foggy Bottom

For John, BLUFYes, this should be an issue in 2016.  Nothing to see here; just move along.

Meanwhile, back in Benghazi, the Judicial Watch effort has revealed that Foggy Bottom knew what was happening on 11 September 2012 almost as soon as it happened.

The National Review headline is "Hillary Clinton’s Top Aides Knew from First Minutes that Benghazi Was a Terrorist Attack, E-mails Disclose".

This isn't about the question of if we did enough, or even if there was something we could have done.  When operating in an area where there is insurgency (what we used to call lawlessness) there are going to be risks.  Our Ambassador, Chris Stevens, knew that and still he put himself out there for the mission.  And more credit to him.

The real issue should be, and has not been, that our Federal Government brought the First Amendment into contempt by its actions!  Instead of acknowledging what was going on, the Administration tried to pass the blame off onto an inept Videographer out in California.  There is reason to believe, that to kowtow to certain Middle East elements, the Administration went after Videographer Nakoula Basseley Nakoula.  Was Mr Nakoula in violation of his parole?  Yes, he was.  But, would California authorities have been aware of that fact without the help of the Federal Administration?  Perhaps a "No" and perhaps a "Not until much later".  The Administration violated the First Amendment, suppressing free speech, in order to achieve certain foreign policy objectives.  If Congress shall make no laws then surely the Administration should not be out there freelancing with regard to suppression of Free Speech.

As for the Media, they are complicit in this and it will come back to bite them.  And I would say "I hope it hurts", but the only ones hurt will be the Free Citizens of this Great Nation.  If the Government covers up the truth how can we perform our duty of voting in an informed manner?

Hat tip to the Instapundit.
