One Future For France

For John, BLUFMuch as we tend isolationist in this great nation, and President Obama wants a too long delayed Asian Pivot, we have to pay attention to Europe.  Nothing to see here; just move along.

From the Financial Times we have an article by Reporters Anne-Sylvaine Chassany and Roula Khalaf, "Marine Le Pen lays out radical vision to govern France".  In early 2011 Ms Le Pen succeeded her Father as leader of the Nation Front.
She calls for the collapse of the EU and talks about nationalising banks.  She sees the US as a purveyor of dangerous policies and Russia as a more suitable friend.  She wants to bring an end to immigration and believes the republic is under Islamist assault.
Someone noted that these pronouncements are a Siren's song to an electorate that is disappointed with France's performance under former President Sarkozy, and current President Hollande.

If Marine Le Pen wins in 2017 it could be rough sledding for the European Union and for NATO, and for the English Speaking world.
