Metrification
For John, BLUF: One of the evils inflicted on us by the French Revolution and Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. Nothing to see here; just move along.
Just because your High School Chemistry teacher liked the metric system in the lab doesn't mean that you have to like it driving your car or going to the grocery store.
I hear you, but I think it is the Army that runs on the metric system.
The Navy and Air Force use nautical miles and knots to sail and fly.
And, the UTM (Universal Transverse Mecator) gets messy when stretched over the area held by a couple of Army Groups (Echelons Above Corps). But, then, since the Army today seems to deny the existence of EACs, perhaps it isn't a problem. [Things I learned by going to Carlisle for a year. :-)]
