Real Slavery Today

From reporter Carole Landry, of Agence France-Presse, we have "Jihadists' slave markets sell girls at any price:  UN envoy".  That would be Ms Zainab Bangura, UN Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict.

Teenage girls abducted by Islamic State fighters in Iraq and Syria are being sold in slave markets "for as little as a pack of cigarettes," the UN envoy on sexual violence said Monday.

We need to end discrimination at home, but we also should talk about ending slavery overseas.  Of course our own response to equal treatment is important in giving us standing to stand up to slavery overseas.
