Change is Not Always for the Better


For John, BLUFThere may not be causation, but there is correlation between stay-at-home moms and the school performance of children.  Nothing to see here; just move along.



On 30 December Pew Researcher Ms Gretchen Livingston, gave us "It’s no longer a ‘Leave It to Beaver’ world for American families – but it wasn’t back then, either".

The thrust of the short article from PEW was that what worked for families in 1960 didn't in 2014.  We are a different nation, as this chart shows:

The numbers are, in the article, further broken down by "race".  Asian families tend to have more stay-at-home moms, and Asian students tend to do well in school.  Check out the article at the link for the second chart.
