For John, BLUF:  This is a problem in Venezuela and it will reverberate up here in the US.  We need to recognize it for what it is.  Nothing to see here; just move along.

Why Won’t The Left Apologize For Backing Venezuela?

There is a good question.  I see only one of two explanations.  The first is that they don't yet realize that Venezuela is now a basket case.  The second is that they are so blinded by their ideology that they believe that economic hardship is OK if there is socialist equality.

There is a third view, which is that it is all President Obama's fault.

Here is a graphic I screen captured from a Democracy Now (Think Ms Amy Goodman) video from last week.  They showed this protest sign twice.  The suggestion is that we are not well viewed down in Venezuela.

But, I think that is just typical Latin American "blame the Gringo".

Then there is this from The Wall Street Journal:

Venezuelans, Facing Food Shortages, Rally Behind Vilified Conglomerate

That is to say, a conglomerate vilified by the Socialist Government of Venezuela.
