Ending the War in Afghanistan

For John, BLUFI don't think we can kill our way to peace, and we don't want another Killing Fields outcome, so it will take some imaginative thinking to end this.  Nothing to see here; just move along.

From The Boston Globe, by Reporter Mujib Mashal, 3 September 2018.

The origin of the story is The New York Times.

The tone of the story is somewhat down-beat.  We have been there a while, since shortly after 9/11.

The outgoing commander of forces from 41 different nations, US Army General John Nicholson Jr., believes it is time for the Taliban to give peace a try.
