Nomination for Over the Top Comment for August

This via the Instapundit, who picked it up from Jammie Wearing Fool, who picked it up from The New York Post.

This is Representative Charlie Rangel (D NY-15) talking about justice in these United States.  Frankly, I was offended by it.

I am not one of those "love it or leave" kinds of persons, but after reading this comment:
The Harlem Democrat yesterday likened himself to a defendant being asked to confess to crimes he didn't commit and dismissed talk of a plea bargain as "English, Anglo-Saxon" procedure for criminal cases.
I wonder why Mr Rangel hasn't long ago moved to Louisiana, where they don't have that terrible English Common Law approach to justice.

And, Mr Rangel, aside from being an authentic war hero, is a graduate of law school—St John's.  He should know better than to trash talk our legal system that way.  After all, he is part of the US Congress and if it is broken, he should be fixing it, not whining about it.

It was a terrible comment on the part of Mr Rangel.

Regards  —  Cliff

"Jammie" is over the top calling Mr Rangel a "racist" (a term we should all drop).
