Judicial Nominations, DC Circuit

For John, BLUFThe President may hope to shift the philosophical center of gravity of the DC Circuit Court.  Nothing to see here; just move along.

The President has nominated three individuals against three openings on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.  This is an important location on our judicial map, in that many issues regarding the Federal Government come through this Court on the way to the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS).  Three with one blow is not quite historic, but it is unusual.

Reporter Ken Klukowski looks at this unusual situation of three people being nominated at the same time, for Breitbart.  One of the things he does is trace where we are now back to 2001 and Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY).

One thing I try and keep in mind is that Federal Judges are folks who may not turn out the way the nominating President might think they will.

UPDATE:  I knew that.  Thanks Neal.

Chuckie is a Dem...not a Rep.

The nominations are much, much more about shoving it up the Rep's noses than getting butts on the bench. The whole theory of ops for Obama is attack, attack, attack. If implemented properly, the new attacks deflect attention and therefore any actions against attacks already occurring. The result is to so completely overwhelm your opposition that they are effectively rendered impotent.

If there is a real success in the Obama Administration, it is the efficient use of basic principles of offensive warfare made even more special by the infusions of direction from Saul Alinsky:

“A good tactic is one your people enjoy.”

“Keep the pressure on, with different tactics and actions, and utilize all events of the period for your purpose.”

“The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition. It is this unceasing pressure that results in the reactions from the opposition that are essential for the success of the campaign.”

BTW, Obama spent years teaching workshops on the Alinsky method. In 1985 he began a four-year stint as a community organizer in Chicago, working for an Alinskyite group called the Developing Communities Project…. Camouflage is key to Alinsky-style organizing. While trying to build coalitions of black churches in Chicago, Obama caught flak for not attending church himself. He became an instant churchgoer.” (By Richard Poe, 11-27-07)
