"Choose Life" is Patently Offensive in New York

TRIGGER WARNING:  The word abortion is used.
For John, BLUFI realize why some think religion is being suppressed.  Nothing to see here; just move along.

This case took two and a half years to come to decision, but on 22 May of this year it was decided.  Here is the decision.  And here is the story, "Court Rules Pro-Life Views Are “Patently Offensive,” Bans Choose Life License Plates in New York".  It is New York State, but it is also a Federal Court ruling.

The Federal Decision quotes New York State Law:

N.Y.C.R.R. § 16.5(e), which states that “no plate shall be issued under this part which is, in the discretion of the commissioner, obscene, lewd, lascivious, derogatory to a particular ethnic or other group, or patently offensive.”
There you are, those who choose life are patently offensive to their fellow citizens.  What can I say?

First Amendment?  Pfft.

So that is where we are.

What if a group proposed Choose Choice or God is Dead or No Papes?

What if?

License plate or bumper sticker, it doesn't matter. Let ideas clash.
