The EU

Google says the EU requires a notice of cookie use (by Google) and says they have posted a notice. I don't see it. If cookies bother you, go elsewhere. If the EU bothers you, emigrate. If you live outside the EU, don't go there.

Those Other Places

For John, BLUFYes, he should have chosen his words more carefully.  Nothing to see here; just move along.

From Da Tech Guy, by the Novelist Ms Juliette Akinyi Ochieng, AKA baldilocks, 13 January 2018.

Here are the last three paragraphs:

But I’ve seen only one immigrant — a Nigerian — talk about going back home and making a difference there.  Good luck, bro.

Most of the immigrants from the Third World thrive here and do not return to their countries of origin because it’s a lot easier and more profitable to stay here, have their children born as Americans, and raise them in relative safety and prosperity.  And who can blame them?  I certainly don’t.

But let’s stop pretending that they left some idyllic Trump-less places of beauty and peace.  They left places that were dirty, stinky, dangerous and which have leader who are blatantly corrupt.

I find it likely that if we have totally open immigration the result will not be to turn the rest of the world into an American paradise, but rather to turn America into a third world nation, even though most of those coming to this country would be looking for the benefits of being an American, with the willingness to pull their weight.  We here in America are just not that good.
