Guy Fawkes Day

For John, BLUFOur freedoms are precious and we need to preserve them.  Nothing to see here; just move along.

November 1605

Diversity means giving every faction the chance to enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness as they see fit.  Within the boundaries of legality.

The Plymouth Colony, where the Pilgrims landed on 9 November 1620, 15 years and days later, wasn't the solution either.  They just wanted the freedom to worship the way they wanted.  They weren't interested in religious freedom for others.  But, we finally got there, thus the First Amendment.

Happy Birthday, Nick.

On a Lighter Note

For John, BLUFBack when life was lighter.  And so was Hollywood.  Nothing to see here; just move along.

Happy Birthday Doris Day

Ms Doris Day is 96 today.

Doris Day reminds me of my wife.  Both sing and both have acted (my wife in a High School version of South Pacific, as Navy Nurse Nellie Forbush).  And my wife sort of looks like Doris Day, although younger.  And we both enjoy her movies, even out to today.

Happy Birthday, Doris, and thanks for the memories.

Candidates for Senate

For John, BLUFGood show this AM.  Nothing to see here; just move along.

Elizabeth Warren, 68 (2020 Democratic Primary Frontrunner)

According to Condé Nast.

But first she has to get past the Senate Election in 2018.

Dr V.A. Shiva Ayyadurai was not too polite to her this morning on Lowell's City Life.  Dr Shiva is running for the Republican nomination for the Massachusetts Senate race coming up in 2018.  And, of course, Dr Shiva thinks of himself as a real "Indian", although he is also a proud American.

One of the points that Dr Shiva made on City Life this morning is that President Trump is a "disruptive" force, which is what is needed to get people back to work and earning a living.  His view is that the Politicians down in DC are not solving our Nation's problems.
