Everything is a WMD

For John, BLUFWords, and their meanings, are important for communication.  Nothing to see here; just move along.

From Mr Spencer Ackerman of Wired Magazine's Danger Room, a plea, "Let’s All Stop Saying ‘Weapons of Mass Destruction’ Forever".

  1. Words DO have meaning, but it seems with each passing day, fewer and fewer people actually know...and worse....CARE about meaning. It is axiomatic that in order for one to mean what one says, they must know what they are saying. Or perhaps, we are much less interested in having the recipient receive an accurate transfer of information. Perhaps our goal is simply to transmit.

I would counter the premise of this blog by saying, Don't stop using WMD any longer. Use it in an appropriate context.
