The EU

Google says the EU requires a notice of cookie use (by Google) and says they have posted a notice. I don't see it. If cookies bother you, go elsewhere. If the EU bothers you, emigrate. If you live outside the EU, don't go there.

Dead Fish Running for President in 2020?

For John, BLUFIt would make him the first Jewish President.  Nothing to see here; just move along.

From the Associated Press, 4 August 2017.

Here is the lede plus three:

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel on Friday said the city will sue the federal government in defense of its status as a so-called sanctuary city and against threats to withhold U.S. grant funds.

Emanuel told "Connected to Chicago" on WLS-AM the city will be in federal court Monday arguing grants can't be withheld from cities the administration says aren't cooperating enough with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials. The interview will air Sunday.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced last month local governments would lose the money if they do not give advance notice when immigrants in the country illegally are about to be released from custody. He also wants immigration agents to have access to local jails.

Officials say Chicago this year expects to receive $3.2 million in Byrne Justice Assistance Grants.  The money would mostly be used to buy police vehicles.

I am anxious to hear Mr John McDonough, City Life producer, weigh in on the police vehicle issue.

In the mean time, the Democratic Party of today is looking more and more like the Democratic Party of the 1840s and 1850s.  All we need is for California (and perhaps Oregon) to succeed from the Union.  And then, like West Virginia, for the State of Jefferson to succeed from those two states and reunite with the Union.

In the mean time, let us consider the deplorable state of the City of Chicago (and the State of Illinois) and ask ourselves if this brainpower might be better used trying to figure out how to get crime (including murders) under control and how to balance the books.

Hat tip to the Drudge Report.
