For John, BLUF: Prejudice gets in the way of progress, and of our humanity. Nothing to see here; just move along.
I had thought we were making progress on race relations, at least compared to my youth, when there were sundown towns and restrictive covenant. It seems the Reverend King was a sort of high water mark in our progress. Sadly.
I still hope that we can achieve Reverent King's vision:
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. We need to all be working in that direction.
