The EU

Google says the EU requires a notice of cookie use (by Google) and says they have posted a notice. I don't see it. If cookies bother you, go elsewhere. If the EU bothers you, emigrate. If you live outside the EU, don't go there.

Chevy Volt Subsidy(s)

The outside number is $250,000, per vehicle sold.  The reason I say outside is that the total millions being given by Government is based on hitting certain goals, per this article from Reason Magazine.

Hat tip to the Althouse blog, where Professor Althouse used the single word "Incredible".

I would have used the word "criminal" but apparently, members of the Federal government can't be labeled as "criminals".............I think the precedent was set with Madame Pelosi and her Blue Ribbon investigative panel to whitewash Congressional involvement in the housing bubble while casting banks as evil trolls who brought down the house...which for a bank is somewhat akin to blowing ones head off to spit one's face.

The Volt harkens up memories of another Detroit lemon...er...white elephant. It was called the Lark. It was so bad and so few people bought them that the Federal government made a mass purchase to prop up the company. We had a strategic missile wing being stood up when the Lark was at its nadir and everyone associated with the program drove a Lark....the base was covered in Larks. I think law enforcement escaped the requirement for Larks as they simply didn't move very fast. The Lark was the forerunner for another government prop up before bail out became popular. That one was the Chrysler K car.....K for Krap. Once again, the AF got on board fast....I think every CONUS senior member of a Wing or higher command staff had his own personal K car staff car. Transportation squadrons hated them.....
