Going back to the root of the current problem, it seems that some from the Federal Health Establishment felt that it was more important to appear certain than to admit the uncertainty that existed. The mask thing is, for me, an example. From we don’t need them to we need two shows a self-serving set of bureaucrats, trying to downplay the importance of masks, to protect the supply, to eventually, everyone should be masked. Self-serving medical-political leaders. The thread through it all is don’t trust the benighted hoi palloi. That is no way to run a democracy.

Personally it would seem to me, and I am dating myself by saying this, some of us remember having to quarantine, as kids, if we caught chicken pox or measles. In fact, the health inspector came out and put a quarantine notice outside our front door. Therefore, it does not seem strange that shutting down the country would be approved. I find it hard to believe the 0.2% statistic now being given out as the amount of difference in the rate of infection. As a Daily Mail reader it is curious to see how the socially immature Brits couldn’t wait to return to their reckless social behavior by frequenting pubs and social gatherings as soon as any quarantine was lifted, with not a mask in sight! And then, to follow up seeing a resurgence of the virus.
