I have been ignoring this story, but when Captain Ed (Ed Morrissey) blogs about it, I begin to wonder. (Hat tip to Instapundit)
Over at Hot Air we have this item "Lauria allegations of threats corroborated." (The original article is located here.)
That would be Attorney Thomas Lauria, and he is involved in the Chrysler Automobile bailout/bankruptcy, representing some creditors. The story is that the creditors felt they were being strong-armed by the Obama Administration. That isn't surprising. What is surprising is that they felt strongly enough about it to speak out.
I am betting it will take 20 years to really understand what has been going down these last few weeks. That is one of the reasons I have not been following this story closely. I had figured that as long as Ford Motor Company was independent and surviving it was a positive sign.
But a line like this catches one's eye—"Another characterized Obama was [sic] 'the most dangerous smooth talker on the planet- and I knew Kissinger.'" The article then goes on to say that the speaker had voted for Obama for President.
The reason that caught my attention was that I have always been suspicious of Dr Kissinger.
I will be watching to see how this develops. You should be also.
