Government Shutdown?

For John, BLUFWhy do people not see that Senator E Warren is running for President, running hard?  Nothing to see here; just move along.

As Bill Rawnsley said on City Life this morning, it depends on whose ox is being gored.  The US House of Representatives are bringing forth a 1.1 Trillion Dollar Continuing Resolution to fund the Government.  Because of one provision in this massive bill, our Senior Senator, E Warren, wants the bill stopped by House Democrats.  She is arguing that because the Republicans want this provision, against her position, they are trying to shut down the Government.  Over a thousand pages and one item is enough for the bill to fail because the Democrats won't work with the Republicans.  But, because the Democrats control the meme of Government Shutdown, it is only the Republicans who shut down the Government.

Put another way, unless we do it the Democrat way the Republicans are shutting down the Government.  Really?

Here is the issue in The Washington Examiner, "Warren tells Democrats to oppose spending bill over Dodd-Frank change".

The lede:

Influential congressional Democrats including Sen. Elizabeth Warren criticized the inclusion of roll-back of a Dodd-Frank provision added to the omnibus spending bill introduced Tuesday night, saying the change was an attempt to sneak a favor for Wall Street into last-minute legislation.

Warren, the prominent liberal bank critic, said on the Senate floor that House Republicans were threatening to shut down the government if they didn't get a chance to repeal part of the 2010 Dodd-Frank law. She called on House Democrats, some of whose votes Republicans will need, to vote against the spending bill.

No, of course not.  She is a Democrat.  Here is an item from Hot Air that explains it all—"When Democrats do it, it’s not a government shutdown".

It must be painful for the Democrats to lose control of the US Congress, given that they and only they have a grasp on truth, justice and the American way.

Hat tip to the Instapundit.
