For John, BLUF: The Democrats are beginning to wake up. Nothing to see here; just move along.
From The Hill and Reporter Mark Hensch.
Here is the lede plus three:
Democratic political commentator Van Jones says his party comes across as elitist and condescending to voters. It is obnoxious.“Everybody knows we have a problem with elitism,” he said on ABC’s “The View” Thursday.
“Liberals and Democrats, we see ourselves as champions of the poor and downtrodden,” added Jones, a former adviser to President Obama.
“But we have somehow let a little camp of elitist-sounding, snobby people come into the party, and it's obnoxious. They talk down to people, and everybody hates it.”
And speaking of obnoxious, he takes a swipe at Republicans, who he claims are "struggling with bigotry and racism in their ranks".
“The Republicans see themselves as the party of color-blind individualism, and that’s beautiful. But they have somehow created a space for a small number of racially hateful people to come in their party. They’ve got to deal with that too.”The good news there is that, unlike some within the Democratic Party, he doesn't condemn everyone who voted for Mr Trump.Jones added he does not consider those who voted for President-elect Donald Trump racist, however.
And, now Mr Michael Moore has someone to talk to about the Democratic Party going off the trail. They aren't stupid over there and they will soon figure this out. Unfortunately, their economic solutions will be more along the lines of a Hugo Chávez than an Adam Smith.
Hat tip to the InstaPundit.
