NYT Offensive and Wrong

TRIGGER WARNINGS:  It isn't just about you.

For John, BLUFThe Old Gray Lady is too quick to believe bad things about the Trump Administration and too slow to use its layers and layers of "Fact Checkers".  Nothing to see here; just move along.

This is The Daily Caller and its White House Correspondent, Reporter Alex Pfeiffer, 2 August 2017.

Here is the lead plus one:

The Justice Department was attacked as racist due to a false New York Times story claiming the DOJ was working to protect white students from discrimination.

The Times story inferred that an internal personnel posting seeking volunteers to investigate “possible litigation related to intentional race-based discrimination in college and university admissions” was meant to look at policies discriminating “against white applicants.”

First off, the word is "Caucasian", not "white".  I am highly offended when someone calls me "white".  I can only imagine how Albinos, of whatever race, feel about it.  To say the least, it is very insensitive on the part of the paper.

Then there is the fact that the complaint is really about Asian-Americans.  How insensitive is that?

Further down, the story says:

The May 2015 complaint centered around Asian-Americans claiming they got passed over for worse students due to quotas at Ivy League schools.

. . .

The incorrect Times story, however, let off a firestorm of hate directed towards the Trump administration. The Times story quoted a key liberal activist lawyer who said, “This is deeply disturbing.”

I have a friend, not a Lowell Resident, nor from Lowell, who is Asian-American and this person says Harvard discriminates against Asian-Americans, so that part of the story doesn't surprise me.

Hat tip to the InstaPundit.

I guess Harvard has changed from its earlier discrimination against Jews to now discriminating against Asian-Americans.

Are you sure it is about Asian-Americans? After all, using the Times definition of White, perhaps it is about white-hispanics, like George Zimmerman.

Maybe The Newspaper of Record believes Asian-Americans are "honorary Caucasians", and thus just like all other Caucasians.

My middle Brother thinks there is no principle there, but just the newspaper catering to its audience.
