The EU

Google says the EU requires a notice of cookie use (by Google) and says they have posted a notice. I don't see it. If cookies bother you, go elsewhere. If the EU bothers you, emigrate. If you live outside the EU, don't go there.

COVID-19 A Year On

For John, BLUFBasically, Blogger Sarah Hoyt is asking, where is the science?  Nothing to see here; just move along.

From According to Hoyt, by Novelist Sarah Hoyt, Daughter -in-law of liberty, 2 March 2021.

This is a long Blog Post, with a lot of different input vectors,  It basically says that we overreached in responding to COVID-19 (Winnie the Flu) and we, by and large, don't know how to back out.

I am thinkjing the lockdown is giving her a bit of depression, because in the middle of the Blog Post she writes:

Right now I see two ends.  One of them has the astronauts in the ISS trying to get Earth and getting no response, because the madness escalated, and everyone is dead.

The other?  The other cuts 100 years ahead to cavemen scratching the soil amid the ruins of the civilization of “the gods” who came before them.

I don’t like either.  I always thought those endings were a cheap cop-out.

I am not as pessimistic a Ms Hoyt.  That said, there are no promises, except of Heaven.  Civilization has regressed in the past.  The future depends upon us.  We have to maintain what we have and build on it for the future of our children,  If we in the West falter then we could have a social credit civilization currated by the Marxist Regime out of Beijing.  Which is, in some ways, a return to normal, a continuation of a 6,000 year old political system with a nomenclatura.

The first reader comment was:

TL;DR:  The Left is basically a Cargo Cult.
There is that.

Hat tip to the InstaPundit.
