DOJ and the Texas Voter ID Law

I was optimistic when Eric Holder was appointed US Attorney General.  I have been disappointed.

Here is Alexis Garcia talking about the new Texas Voter ID Law.

So, it is OK for Indiana, but not for Texas.  It is OK for Massachusetts to require that voters have something to confirm who they are and where they live?  It is just that we don't enforce it.  What about Lawrence, MA and voter fraud?

So is there any evidence of enough fraud that we should be wasting time on this, and resources, as opposed to the counterbalancing racism and abuse, or just plain creation of an environment where people just won't bother to try and vote?

Counterbalancing racism and abuse????? So "Blacks for Obama is just a PAC?" We certainly have plenty of fraud in NH voting....proven.....MA voters coming across the border and casting ballots for........oh no.....the Democratic party choice. I am shocked.....just shocked.

I guess it is more important to see actual flames in action before you agree that smoke usually indicates some sort of combustive activity???

Or is this just a campaign to convince conservatives to just not bother to vote?

Aren't these laws for the most part, for the most part, cynical attempts by racist Republicans to suppress people who would most likely vote Democratic if they were being intimidated?

How may people really cross over from NH, hundred? thousand? and you are using that as an excuse to reestablish Jim Crow?

I always find it interesting when people use terms like "racist Republicans", given that such stalwarts of the Democratic Party as Woodrow Wilson were real racists.  Democrats opposed equal rights for a hundred years.  And, there are those who think that the Democratic Party still has a "plantation mindset".

I do think Lance meant to say "weren't", but they aren't.  No one is trying to suppress legitimate voters and votes.  On the other hand, one of the former mayors of Lawrence, MA, told me Friday last that folks were being bused in from New York to vote in a local election—being given addresses to use when they went into the polling place.  If the race is close you don't need thousands of fraudulent votes.  The way it turns out, while Bush had the votes, Kennedy didn't, but Mayor Daley gave them to him.

Yes, voter fraud is still alive and well in US politics, and the US Attorney General is looking the other way.  Eric Holder is such a disappointment to me.  I wish they had picked Lani Guinier.

I guess I am cranky when I stay up late.

Amen Cliff. I just love it when the left retreats to calling the right racist. It is just so the kettle calling the pot black.....oh.....can I say that??? CORE, NAACP, ACORN, Blacks for Obama.....these are not totally race driven, race promoting, and yes, racist organizations. And they are all Democratic party supporters...benefactors.

Moreover, the left mindset is that it really isn't voter FRAUD if its only a small number...yet to be determined by the DNC...or...."whatever number it takes."

The Dubya/Gore travesty in FL was nothing less than a bungled voter fraud by the FL chapter of the DNC.
