The EU

Google says the EU requires a notice of cookie use (by Google) and says they have posted a notice. I don't see it. If cookies bother you, go elsewhere. If the EU bothers you, emigrate. If you live outside the EU, don't go there.

Doing Bad in the Name of Doing Good, in Secret

For John, BLUFSometimes the self-righteousness of people gets in the way of them doing their jobs.  On the other hand, you have to follow your conscience.  Nothing to see here; just move along.

From Fox News, by Ms Brooke Singman, four days ago.

Here is the lede plus one:

Newly uncovered text messages between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page suggest a possible coordination between high-ranking officials at the Obama White House, CIA, FBI, Justice Department and former Senate Democratic leadership in the early stages of the investigation into alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, according to GOP congressional investigators on Wednesday.

The investigators say the information provided to Fox News “strongly” suggests coordination between former President Barack Obama’s Chief of Staff Denis McDonough, then-Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid, and CIA Director John Brennan — which they say would “contradict” the Obama administration’s public stance about its hand in the process.

I hope this all, or to a large degree, turns out not to be true.  I wouldn't mind folks like Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, Ben Rhodes, Denis McDonough, John Brennan, James (Cardinal) Comey, Andrew McCabe, et al, swinging, but it would do damage to the institutions of our Republic.  That would be bad.

Maybe, rather than having Special Councils we need an "Office for the Protection of the Constitution", separate from DOJ and charged with investigating all agencies that have a potential to step on our Constitutional Rights, from BATF to DOJ and all places in between.  No, not quite like the Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz or BfV.  The danger, of course, is that it becomes, over time, part of the swamp.

Hat tip to the Drudge Report.
