The EU

Google says the EU requires a notice of cookie use (by Google) and says they have posted a notice. I don't see it. If cookies bother you, go elsewhere. If the EU bothers you, emigrate. If you live outside the EU, don't go there.

Lowell has a Preliminary


For John, BLUF:  Be sure you are Registered to vote and that you vote.  If you are a Citizen of the US and a Resident of Lowell there are no excuses.  Nothing to see here; just move along.


The results are in and Lowell has 20 people running for City Council.

To have a Preliminary (a sort of Primary) requires twice the number of City Councilors plus two.  With nine City Councilors we hit the magic number.  The Preliminary will be held on Tuesday, 26 September 2019.

The 11 Candidates for Lowell School Committee is not enough to trigger a Preliminary election, so the School Committee will not appear on the September Ballot.

The Genera Eection will be on Tuesday, 5 November 2019 and will include, in addition to the City Council and School Committee Elections, two [non-binding] ballot questions on how we should elect people to the City Council and School Committee.
