Real ID Key to Flying—1 Year to Go

For John, BLUF:  I am not sure this is the solution to terrorism in the US, but it will keep out the less well trained terrorists.  Nothing to see here; just move along.

You have 1 year to get a Real ID or you can’t fly:  Here’s how to do it

Do you already have "Real ID"?  Check your Drivers License for a gold block in the upper right hand quarter, with a Clear five pointed star in the middle.

You don't need "Real ID", unless you need to enter a Federal Building or wish to fly, and even then, if you have a US Passport you are OK.

If you want to upgrade to "Real ID" you can go to the RMV (here in Massachusetts) or toAAA (in Lowell, at 585 Pawtucket Blvd, Lowell, MA 01854 / Phone:  (978) 937-3061).  Be sore to check on line for what you need to complete the paperwork.  For example, a birth certificate.
