The EU

Google says the EU requires a notice of cookie use (by Google) and says they have posted a notice. I don't see it. If cookies bother you, go elsewhere. If the EU bothers you, emigrate. If you live outside the EU, don't go there.

Captain Paul E Kittredge

For John, BLUFThere is a lot of history in Lowell.  Nothing to see here; just move along.

Eileen, in her blog Lowell Doughboys and more... put up a post yesterday on Captain Paul E. Kittredge, who gave the last full measure of devotion in World War I.

Kittredge Park, at the intersection of Andover and Nesmith is named after him.  What I learned from looking around is that Kittredge Park is the anchor point for the Washington Square Historic District, which dates from the 1840s and 1850s.

But, back to Captain Kittredge, here is the penultimate paragraph:

He never came home.  We thank him and his family for his sacrifice.  Think of him when you drive by Kittredge Park.
Like many, he never came home, but he was honored none the less.

Hat tip to Lowell Doughboys and more....
