The EU

Google says the EU requires a notice of cookie use (by Google) and says they have posted a notice. I don't see it. If cookies bother you, go elsewhere. If the EU bothers you, emigrate. If you live outside the EU, don't go there.

Understanding the Nature of the Recent Election

For John, BLUFSome folks are way out there, but there are surely questions to be raised.  Nothing to see here; just move along.

When will elite urban white people ever get the feeling that it's bigoted to mock rural white people?
Asks Blogger and Law Professor Ann Althouse.

(My wife asked the same question in a slightly different form this morning at breakfast.  I think the answer to both women is "judgement day".  We should have a lot more clarity then.)

This question was part of a much larger Althouse post talking about a piece by Esquire's Charles P. Pierce.

Mr Pierce seems to be having trouble with the situation.  He has forgotten Dead Carl's admonition about understanding the nature of a thing:

“The first, the supreme, the most far-reaching act of judgment that the statesman and commander have to make is to establish by that test the kind of war on which they are embarking; neither mistaking it for, nor trying to turn it into, something that is alien to its nature.  This is the first of all strategic questions and the most comprehensive.

What can I say?

Hat tip to Ann Althouse.
