The EU

Google says the EU requires a notice of cookie use (by Google) and says they have posted a notice. I don't see it. If cookies bother you, go elsewhere. If the EU bothers you, emigrate. If you live outside the EU, don't go there.

Defenestration?

Did he jump or was he pushed?

I just saw where Bill Richardson, the Governor of New Mexico, has withdrawn his name from nomination as Commerce Secretary in the new Obama Administration.

Governor Richardson states:  "But I have concluded that the ongoing investigation also would have forced an untenable delay in the confirmation process."

President Elect Obama's statement:  "Governor Richardson is an outstanding public servant and would have brought to the job of Commerce Secretary and our economic team great insights accumulated through an extraordinary career in federal and state office."

And, if he was pushed, was it because of the Governor from Illinois, Rod Blagojevich? I would describe Rod B as a gift that keeps on giving.

Frankly, this is unfortunate. Governor Bill Richardson has cabinet experience (Energy), has been our Ambassador to the UN, is and knows his way around. He is also one of the most senior Hispanics in the Democratic Party. This is a loss for the Obama Administration, and in these times of financial problems that is not a good thing.
