For John, BLUF: You could cook dinner on some of the campaign rhetoric. Nothing to see here; just move along.
USA Today, today, has a clip of Ms Hillary Clinton saying, back last Wednesday, that soon the Republicans will blame her for the Fall of Rome. Here is the clip—"Clinton Says GOP Will Blame Her for Fall of Rome".
Let us be fair and honest. If any Republican blames former Secretary of State Clinton for the fall of Rome we need to take up a collection and send that person back to school. We are talking 476 AD, as least for the Western Empire. Well before Ms Clinton's time.
As for the Eastern Empire, Constantinople didn't fall until 1453 AD. (So, where those reverse Crusaders taking down that noble Christian City?) At any rate, I think that is also too far in the past to be the fault of Ms Clinton.
Hunny Bunny wasn't born until 1947, so anything prior to Dien Bien Phu is probably not her fault. One does wonder if she sometimes models herself after Nurse Geneviève de Galard?
Ms Clinton has contributed to some foreign policy problems, but let us not let her claim in addition the fall of Rome.
Regards — Cliff
