Good News, and Bad

For John, BLUFI wonder how the numbers break out for Lowell.  And who would we ask?  Nothing to see here; just move along.

From CNBC and Reporter Liz Moyer, 5 January 2017.

The good news is that Black unemployment is at its lowest point since the Federal Government started keeping stats 45 years ago.

The bad news is that Black unemployment is at 6.8%, vice an overall rate of 4.1%.

We have to do better.  This represents real people looking for work and not finding it  Back in the Middle Ages, when I studied economics at the college level, 4 to 4.5 percent was considered full employment.  That number allows for folks changing jobs.

Hat tip to the InstaPundit.
