The EU

Google says the EU requires a notice of cookie use (by Google) and says they have posted a notice. I don't see it. If cookies bother you, go elsewhere. If the EU bothers you, emigrate. If you live outside the EU, don't go there.

A Venn Diagram of Religion and the Public Square

For John, BLUFSome people paint with a broad brush, but that tends to easily cover over the nuances of life.  Thus the Venn Diagram beloaw.  Nothing to see here; just move along.

I thought the article linked to in the previous blog post might have been a little unfair to Democrats.

Thus, this diagram to show how I think the anti-religioous attitude in the United States breaks down.  Yes, it is mostly the Progressive Democrats, who see religion as providing an alternative point of focus and thus encouraging individualism.

However, there are also Republicans who have this anti-religious attitude.  And that large segment of the population who are non-participants, who don't vote and don't otherwise get involved.  They too have a segment that is anti-religion,

This is fine.  In a pluralistic society there are bound to be differences of opinion on a range of matters.  Religion is one of those matters.  But, we have to be tolerent of each others views and leave space in the public square for such differences of view.

That would go especially for Evangelical Protestants, with their emphasis on individual salvation.
